Ive got to the stage where i need to get a cheap tipper van as a second vehicle for one of the other guys to drive. Im only looking to spend about £2000 so contract hire is not the route to go! Im looking at transit tippers, but i wondered if anyone had any comments about others such as LDVs, Nissan cabstars etc. Theres not much difference in terms of insurance so it really comes down to reliabilty, running costs etc

if your spending around 2k, then id say go with a transit purely for reliability & even if you do have problems parts are cheap and easy found.

that was kind of my thinking. Its a bit of an experiment really. I think it can earn us money and give us greater fleixbility to go off and do other jobs etc, as there are 3 of us in one van at the moment. It will also be ideally suited to certain jobs we do. I know most of these types of vehicles more or less hold their value once they get to this price level, so i want to give it a try, rather than committing to a new one.

Can I suggest a 'Twin Cam' Peugeot pick-up might suit your needs!
