I did my basins 32mm waste pipe earlier, 3 solvent weld joints. The pot said wait 15 mins before handling, nothing about testing.

I just ran some water down it with a hose, about 1.5 hrs/2 hrs after doing the pipes.

Is this enough? The internet says lots of different stuff, some saying 24 hours! I was only running low pressure for about 10 mins before I worried!

These pipes are going to be under the floor so I'm a bit paranoid!

They seemed totally dry and set 10 mins after doing them

It’s virtually good to go from the minute you connect up. Solvent seals on contact that’s why it’s convenient and quick.

Ok good to know. I imagine with a basin waste pipe with no pressure, even with no glue it might not leak...the fitting feel pretty tight!

I have used it on pressurised pipes 10 minutes after assembly however unlike some I do use the cleaner first.

Yeah I used the cleaner before. I also saw a popular video on YouTube as I'd never done it before, saying be liberal with the glue, but then it squeezes out internally and makes a lip all the way around! I imagine this could contribute to blockages, probably not in the bathroom sink though as people only wash there hands

You put the glue inside the fitting didn't you. Only put glue on the pipe then excess doesn't end up inside.

The Floplast glue I got said put it on both surfaces, and the video I watched online. But still I think I was a bit liberal and so got this lip. Next time I'll use a little less, but I can understand why putting it on both surfaces makes sense

That`s a weak joint bud, best applied to both internal and external on pressurised but internal only will do on gravity pipes.
