Toolbar gone!

I have reinstated my google tool bar now, but prior to nailing it back up it had simply disappeared after a recent start-up.

Why?

I must add at this point that i am rather computer illiterate and will not understand questions like "who is your provider" and "what security settings" and "privacy setting" etc.

All i know is we have some Windows and stuff.
