Got plumber who set up towel rail pipe at 498C/C. How wide need to be my towel rail?

Thanks

He'll have set it to 500mm centre's and it's 2mm out. Check out the towel rail you want and look at the pipe centre dimensions, not the width.

If it's a towel rad you want then it'll probably be a 540mm wide rad with 20-25mm from the edge to the tapping centre. Is there wiggle room on the pipes?

No much wiggle room as the bathroom is fully tiled. What about if I buy a 500mm towel radiator with 500mm centre pipe and stick appropriate valve not sure if straight or angled?

Here you go

You need 2 x chrome corner valves that go straight onto the copper tails that come out the wall and then go straight up into the towel rail. Positioned so that the valve controls (handles) are parallel to the wall and point towards one another, under the towel rail. This arrangement will work if you get a 550mm wide towel rail.

I could show you a picture of 100's I've done... If I had a photo to hand and wasn't being pestered by the missus about when I will be home!
