Ive just bought a TP-link TL-WWR841N.
I want to connect my TalkTalk freeview box

I thought it would be as simple as the TP-link seeing the wifi & connecting, then I connect the cable from TP-link to freeview box.

That dosnt seem to work, the instructions with the TP-link assumes you know what you are doing.
Look on line & all I see is routers connected via cables.
Please give me a clue. Thanks

OP, I see this as two steps
#1 Connecting your TP link device to talk talk WiFi
#2 Connecting TPlink device to Freeview box thorough LAN which should be straight forward.

For the first one, when you setup keep the device closer to router. These devices work only with 2G and hate 5G signal. On your talk talk router home page you will be able to switch off 5G signal until drops is completed.

One you start the setup and if TPlink asks to open tplinkrepater.net then try opening that in chrome incognito window.

Let us know how these things go.

Gnans: I connected the TP-link to the computer using LAN, I have configured this to be an 'Access Point'.
I have taken TP-Link & connected to Freeview box using cables etc.
The lights on the TP-link is telling me 'wan connected but no internet not available'

Found the TP LINK stuff to be a pain...got a used draytek ap800 of Ebay faultless ...

So everything is connected via LAN? Or one part of this is wireless?

Gnas: I connected via LAN, I followed TPLink youtube, (well I thought I had). After 2hrs I got pizzed off, its packed & going back.
Sparkeymark: make you right.

Have a couple of tplink WiFi extenders ( with lan) just plug and play using WP . Not had any problem .
