Hi, I need to replace a 600 x 900 K2 double panel double convector radiator and the missus wants a traditional looking column radiator. I can't find anything with those dimensions. Any suggestions?

600 high is standard,900 long could be available but may need a compromise =/- 80mm

The pipes will need altering anyway to accommodate the new rad connection distance to the wall, also consider the heat output difference between a column and a proper radiator.

decent columns of your size will be around £400+
be cheaper and less trouble to buy your missus a new hand bag ;)

Thanks for help Old&Cold...unfortunately I've already removed the old radiator so a handbag's not going to keep my son's room warm next Winter unless I set fire to it!

I went for this in the end for £199 from Soak.com:

Hope you've either ordered the feet to go with it or you have a good solid wall to hang it off -- those are properly heavy and the brackets are totally unsuitable for plasterboard walls including dot and dab

As what muggles has mentioned ^ re gripit.

Your column rad will require decent wall fixings,if your wall is a plasterboard partition consider using snap toggler (m6) see video for toggler & gripit comparison (near end of video)

if the wall is not a plasterboard partition then other fixings will be required.

The plasterboard needs to be in good condition, correctly attached to vertical supports and plastered.Remember the column rad will weigh 3 stone +

happy plumbing

Hi,

Sorry for the delay but just wanted to thank you for your advice. I ordered the feet for the radiator and all now installed with no worries of it coming off the wall now. Thanks for the advice.

Cheers
