Transferring data to new phone

Just bought the other half a new Samsung Galaxy phone to replace her old Galaxy. The SIM and SD card are the same size so we will just swap them to the new phone. Will this transfer everything across? We will make sure that any pictures in internal storage are saved to the SD card but is there anything else that needs to done?

Use the samsung app to transfer everything, it does all the settings. Then swap sim & sd card.

Google updated the apps last time I did this.
ISTR I also went through my contacts and was able to move them all to the sim card (some were stored on the phone only).

So I would do the transfer before moving and cards over? The new phone is SIM free.

Samsung Smart Switch works very well. Just follow the instructions.

If your new phone has a USB-C to USB-C cable , you may be able to plug phone to phone.
Did my Samsung to Samsung over local wifi.
Did my mums iPhone to Samsung with a USB-C to Lightning.

Apart from the new phone requiring an update to the installed Samsung Switch app before it would import any data, all went well thanks.
