Hi,
I've bought a new Twyford closed couple cistern (OT2421WH) and reading through the fixing instruction noticed the hardware supplied doesn't match the instructions.
The fixing hardware is missing metal fixing plate and metal washers. Instead what I've received are 2 x rubber washers with conical sides, 4 x plastic washers, 2 x nuts and bolts, 2 x wing nuts and 2 x some other type of plastic washers/caps where one side has a raised star pattern and on the other side is an indent. I've no idea which order or how these parts should be fixed.
As a initial guess I'm thinking the brass bolts need to go through the cistern with the conical rubber washers - conical end facing the hole, a plastic washer on the outside between the cistern and pan and then a plastic washer under the pan and then tighten up with wing nut. So what are the brass nuts for and the other two star type washers for?
I notice this cistern has holes for the bolts where as my old one used a metal fixing plate to fix cistern to the pan. Are these type of bolt through closed couple cisterns normal?
Can anyone advise on order of using supplied hardware to fix cistern to pan please.
