I have some timber windows and doors to paint but I'm a bit confused between wood treatment, wood stains and wood paint.
Some of the windows already appear to have some type of a dark oak gloss paint which is peeling away in certain areas. Others look like they have just a stain.
I'm I ok to paint over this using something like ronseal wood stain or should I be using a wood paint? Basically I want long term exterior wood protection without having to paint every year.
Which of the two from paint or stain is going to give me longest term protection?
Also the interior side of these windows appear to have a white gloss. Do I use an exterior or interior paint for these surfaces?
Any advice will be much appreciated.
