I am planning to get new flooring in my bedroom. My neighbour installed laminate flooring 10 years ago and he said the reason why some planks in the centre of the room wouldn’t click into place was because the floor boards were uneven, probably due to heat from the radiator. I don’t want this to be a problem for my new flooring.

Would vinyl plank flooring be better for my uneven surface or not?

How can I fix this issue so my flooring doesn’t have gaps in it?

Thanks guys :)

Uneven floor would not prevent floor clicking together but if very poor could be the reason it might fail.
It should be laid at 90 degrees to existing floorboards ? What underlay was used ?

Really? So if the floor IS uneven, the laminate would still click together properly?

It was really cheap underlay...?

A good quality underlay would help , if really bad you would need to overboard with ply to get an even surface.
