Unexpected I/O error 0xc00000e9

Hello all,

Help or advice please.
Daughter`s Toshiba Satelite laptop crashed. The above error notification was shown, I rebooted and played with the F keys for a while. Managed to get it working but then crashed again.
Now when I start up I cannot get into windows and get the start up fixing tool which has been running for two days now, even an amatuer like myself realised this was not working so powered off.

Any ideas please.

Could be a faulty Hard drive.....

Thanks for the replies, it looks like the hard drive has gone.
Is it just a case of replacing like for like and re-installing windows?
