Depends on the door really
I suppose it is more a question of has anyone tried it? I have had a look but I am not convinved I can get it to fit satisfactorily - a roller shutter contcat might be easier mainly due to the magnet fitting to the door. I will have another look!
Every door is different , some have play in them , some don’t , there is never a “ this contact will be fitted “
I have fitted the contact using a bracket to mount the magnet. all seems well.
Before I connect up, the armoured cable is someting around 500mm long. Do any of the professionals cut this length down at all? Looks a bit messy to me at the current length

@Handymanjo I guessed as much.I might use a few p-clips to make a reasonable job of it in that case
Yes ,we always use p clips to secure link cable to junction box
