Upstairs bathroom tap hot water - no pressure

Hello all,

I'm new to this forum so thanks and foremost for your help.

Apologies if this is not the right place or been covered by another post.

I need some help / advice with a tap in the bathroom upstairs. There is no pressure that comes out of the tap, in fact the more you open the tap up the less water comes out. Mostly cold water, sometimes it manged to get to hot.

We have a combie boiler, you can hear it any time you run hot water.

When I run the bathroom tap it doesn't get a chance to kick in before water literally is dripping out when at full open, at half open it run but mostly cold and the longer it runs the less comes out, even if the boiler kick in.

The bathtap is fine, no problems, shower is fine, down stairs is fine as well...

Any ideas what this is?

I'm guessing going to do with the bathroom tap?

I assume it's a basin tap ? Show us a pic . If it is the screw down type ,rather than quarter turn operation ,the valve is probably the fault.

Here are some pics. Just ran the tap, strong force came out of it for a while then complete stop and drip drip.

Tap needs a new valve. Easy enough to acquire and fit.

Does it run if you pull up on the tap head?

Just replace the valve . That's the part which you can't see ,until you remove the handle. The big silver disc on top of the handle pops off. You then see a big red plastic thing with a screw in the centre. Remove the screw ,and the handle pulls up and off to reveal the valve. Before unscrewing the valve ,you will need to isolate the water supply.

Was the valve, now have hot running water!

Was a bit of a job to loosen the valve, due to spacing under basin even with basin wrench.
