We're off to the states over Christmas the wife wants to take our notepad obviously there is voltage differences is there an adaptor to buy to overcome this problem.Edit: just read on the little transformer that it works on the rang of 100volts to 230 volts so should be alright without an adapter? or am I reading it wrong?

Ok that means the notebooks power adaptor can run on american mains without any voltage conversion. You sill have to figure out how to physically connect it though.

what kind of connector does the notebooks power adaptor have on it?

If it's a figure 8 then you can either simply use a travel adaptor or get an american mains lead for it.

If it's a cloverleaf then it really should be earthed which presents a bit of a problem as many travel adaptors don't provide an earth connection and american cloverleaf mains leads don't exactly seem common on this side of the pond. Someone has some for sale on ebay at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Clover-Leaf-M...s_LaptopCables_Connectors?hash=item5ad1e730a1 though.

It is a clover leaf connection so will be buying one of those leads many thanks.
