Hi, I have just upgraded my usb 1.1 with a new 5 port usb 2.0 card. I had a bit of a probelm with the inital installation, XP did not recognise the driver and could not find one, I tried the cd that came with it but it said it does not pass the XP logo?. Anyway, I 'think' it has installed ok off the cd...(the new ports now appear in device manager)

But, when I plug in my external dvd and the cable v-stream for the vcr it does not recognise them, it says it cannot find the drivers for the plugged in device. I put these devices back into the 1.1 ports and the drivers were found and operated instantly, any idea what I have done wrong?

Funny thing is when I plug in my external usb bay it works fine.

Any help would be most appreciated

Do your external devices come with drivers? If so, you will probably need to install the USB2 versions.

Thanks Igorian, after a major process of elimination today I eventually got it sorted (the usb 1.1 ports caused a conflict with the new ones, I had to temporarly disable them whilst installing)
