As a cheap solution to store photos etc, was considering buying a couple of cheap 2TB USB flash sticks (less than £10) each.

E. G

Intend to write to it once with all Photos and keep as a backup.
Will work out a better solution later when I have a bit more cash.

But for now, is this solution OK or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance

It's an okay solution but it depends on how many photos you have. With cameras needing more information to take the much higher resolution pics these days, including phone pics, it doesn't take much to fill a 2 Tb stick

I'm afraid it's a scam.
The maximum capacity for a SanDisk Cruzer Blade is 128GB, not 2TB and that's at a retail price of @£15 for the 128GB.

SSD is a much more reliable solution. Always have backups of your backups!

Agreed. Have backups on magnetic disk type hdds but thought another non mechanical solution would be good.
Ssds are a bit pricey though

I have two portable hard discs for backups. Each is capable of holding far more than I have saved on my laptop (I forget the exact amount without getting them out), and I believe that similar items can be bought for around £50 or perhaps less.

Are these mechanical hard disks or sdd?
Was thinking about going for the more expensive sdds as apparently they are more reliable and last longer. Thanks

These are mechanical hard discs, but I have had them for a few years and they both still work perfectly. If you think about it, I only use each one about once a month and only for as long as it takes to copy the new files I have temporarily saved to Google Drive.

Sticks are a pain. Never get on with them for large files.
USB SSD drive is better

SSD are really cheap at the moment.
I have a 256gb memory stick which plugs into any phone and is suitable for photo back up etc.
