I normally spend a few hours a week doing invoices, quotes and keeping accounts up to date on my pc.I wondered what how much I can include in my accounts for electricity used to reduce tax paid, also what is a sensible amount for laundering overalls, electric, washing powder etc.

You'll have to be careful here. If you put too much on your account the council might consider you a (home) business and charge you business rate on top of your normal council tax.

Ask your accountant what - in your circumstances - is an acceptable amount per month.

washing of overalls etc is a bit of a grey area. Some will let it through on an inspection, some wont. There are a few cases theyve got to fall back on to stop you claiming it. If you are using one room in the house as an office then you can claim for that as a proprtion of the house from the household bills. Its always better to slightly underclaim then overclaim though!
