Hello I have Vado concealed shower valves which both seem to be stuck on…having looked at the forum I tried putting WD40 where I got the grub screw out and around any gaps I could pull the valve away from the wall slighlty. Also gave it a few taps. Neither top or bottom ones are budging!

Just seen a suggestion for vinegar/kilrock elsewhere so will try that but if anyone else can advise that would be appreciated…I don’t want to force it off too hard in case it breaks something behind.

The round plate behind the square knob unscrews easily fit the top knob but not the bottom.

Water is dripping consistently from the bottom knob when the shower is on (and sometimes when not on too).

When trying to pull the bottom knob off I can see the whole faceplate moving slighlty.

When I try to pull the top knob the circular bit immediately behind it (not the small circular plate) is coming with it and the small plate behind it is coming away from the main faceplate.

Any help or suggestions very welcome!

Thank you!

You have to be more forceful to get them off and then check what it faulty. You need to turn off the water and drain down first.

I take it you have removed any securing screw first?

Thank you Andy.

I have removed the grub screw for each knob. I’ve tried to be quite forceful but equally don’t want to break it.

Do you mean turn the water off once I have got the knobs off from the local shut off or the main stopcock?
