Hi all

Hopefully this is the right place. I've just had an attic converted and the velux window at the front of house is fitted like the picture below. Seems significant spaces. Only noticed this evening and builder finishes up tomorrow.

Does this look like it's done right or how could it be improved? I think it looks real untidy after putting a lot of money into it.

The dusty looking bit is where chimney was removed.

Thanks

Not sure I described that well at all - big gaps down side of window where a full tile wouldn't fit. Is it possible to fit a half tile in those spaces or is there no way to attach strongly?

Are you sure he's finished?

Your battens are going to rot and you're relying on the membrane to keep the water out which won't last long

Thanks mate.

I didn't know how to delete this thread.

So the windows were done about 2 weeks ago and he never mentioned any extra work to finish them. I just phoned him last night (posted on here in case I was being daft, before I did) and he said the wrong flashing was sent so roofer coming on Friday to finish the job, so all good.

Thanks for the reply
