Hi there, I hope someone had advise me.

I'm having an Elica Prime vented hob fitted against an external wall. The installation videos and diagrams show the venting running down the inside of the cupboard and venting out at floor level. There is work being done on the wall and it would be possible to vent it directly through the wall. Is this OK to do? logically I can see no reason why not, but would like confirmation so the mason creates the hole in the right place. I've attached the diagram from the fitting instructions with an arrow pointing where I would like it to go.

Thanks in advance.

It specifies a backdraft vent to be fitted, but good point. So I could maybe have it a quarter of the way down? I want to maximise extraction by having as short a run as possible.

If you follow the manufacturers instructions then they will have no wiggle room should it come to warranties in the future. The short length they advise should not affect the efficiency of the extractor.
