I am looking for advice on rendering the parapet wall as seen in photos
Currently I have scaffolding up all around the roof because a company is doing external wall insulation and silicone rendering on the house
I have checked the condition of my parapet wall and the render looks very old and is also chipped away in places so while the scaffolding is up I am thinking to sort this out while the access is available
I have some questions about how best to tackle the job
1. How to best access the Parapet wall without risking cracking the tiles? Lay down a ladder onto the tiles? and secure base of ladder to scaffolding?
2. How best to access the steeper section behind the house? No easy way to lay down the ladder there due to outrigger roof section?
For the actual Parapet Wall by reading researching the forum and web I have found the following steps:
1. Remove loose render (keep the render that is solid)
2. Install plastic bell shape bead with wall plugs and stainless steel screws into parapet wall
3. Apply Render ( 1/4 cement/sand mix with water proofer)
4. Apply Masonry paint
Would that work?
Any advice is much appreciated
