Hi
We recently bought a house with a 5 year old viessmann vitodens gas boiler. We have never really got to grips with it... the manual timer doesn't seem to work and we have to manually turn the heating/hot water on and off using the dials.
Last winter we had the hot water set at the factory setting (number 4) and the heating set at number 3. In theory The system prioritises hot water and when that is heated it then takes over the central heating. However, this year the boiler has decided that it will only heat the radiators when the hot water is completely switched off. We have fiddled around with the dials all sorts of different ways and it just prioritises the hot water everytime, as soon as you turn on the hot water the heating switches off and doesn't come back on. Is this a fault? Does anyone have one of these boilers and can give advice?
It is very annoying to only be able to have hot water or heating - as well as the energy used to heat the house from cold each morning.
Operating manual is rubbish - as is the viessmann helpline. Would rather not call the plumber as he hates viessmann!
