Vinyl click flooring etc for kitchen - can anyone recommend any?

Glued down lino is definitely not an option, hateful stuff to change.

B&Q do click vinyl, but it only clicks properly along it's length, quite a few poor reviews too.

Does anyone know of a good brand, maybe that uses HDF, fits together well, and won't chip if a kid drops a Tonka on it?

Of a good serviceable and robust alternative? Maybe 18mm?

If I could find a good one that was 18mm thk I would replace the chipboard sub with it.

I did have a look, the wear surface (or surface veneer) varies from .3 to .55 mm thk; which isn't very. That might chip quite easily.

.55mm is commercial grade so you will be ok with that mate

I used Quick-Step laminate in our living room and it's amazing how well it's survived, had all sorts dropped on it!.

Even the dog hasn't managed to scratch it yet..

Multipanel vinyl flooring for me....the best Ive ever seen and dead easy to cut to size.

Ok, I was thinking of just putting this down wall to wall, not cutting in around units etc but putting the units on top of the click flooring? What do think? Is it a good idea to put click under a washing machine?

They have some Livyn down at the local Howdens. I didn't realise that it's vinyl to right thru, it looks good but it is quite expensive. B&Q do Click Vinyl to too, is theirs any good?

Also, my galley kitchen 3m x 2m with a doorway in each long side, would I lay it parallel to the long sides/doorway threshold strips?

What expansion allowance for vinyl in a room that small?

The kitchen currently has no skirting and vinyl is flexible, can I forget about edge trim and just put skirting on afterwards? Or is edge trim always used.

What's vinyl to like to take up later on? How might I help accommodate the various 'what if...' scenarios?

Sub is 18mm t&g chipboard, what underlay, if any, would be best suited to vinyl click on this surface?
