That's what I was thinking along the lines of too, however it would seem from the OP's responses from VM they are trying to wriggle out of there responsibility! Rubbing there nose in there own webpage may do the trickAccording the Virgin forum, if a Virgin tech converts your phone to VOIP they will do any necessary rewiring for you.

Ideally, the Hub and your phone should be within 2 metres of each other. Our technician will chat to you about this when they connect the Hub. If you’d like your phone to be further away from the Hub, our technician may need to do additional wiring. Don’t worry, this won’t cost any extra.
