Vw Arteon Ad blue

As above our car needed some ad blue. After putting some in the engine management light came on and stayed on with the ad blue light
Had it to the VW garage and they say sensor is broke inside ad blue tank and the tank is £840 inc vat supply and fit.
I had loads of issues with this car. In and out of garage. It’s 12 month out of warranty ( 18 plate ). They offering to pay half which is ok but sick of the car been in garage. surely the full thing doesn’t need to be changed for a poxy sensor?

write to VW customer service (head office not garage) I worked in the motor trade and was amazed at what was given to customers as a good will gesture. Worth a go. Good luck
