vw timing belt

have got a 1998 1.8 20v passat & its just done 70k,because the engine goesnorth/south it lloks like i would have to take off the radiator/all the auxillary belts etc etc....
i've fitted loads of ford cvh belts & renault ohc .
but this looks a bit daunting.
any ideas/suggestions please.
 
forgot to add ,have bought a haynes manual but does'nt seem as detailed as the the older versions you could get.they used to have photos of people actually dismantling the engines & did'nt seem to cover about 10 versions of the same car which can be a bit confusing at best."see photo 5:8 and page 34 & 123" :?
they seem to print them on toilet paper now. :)

This is your problem then, try fitting a VW timing belt (just one, not loads) to the engine instead, you'll be right as rain :wink:
