Wall Brackets for Floating Shelves

Hi all,

I want to create some floating shelves but find it hard to get specific wall brackets for them. Can anyone advise me on where is the best place to get them. Any websites?

I've tried B&Q, Wickes and Homebase, but no good.

Are these the thick shelves that seem to hang there without support?
If so I made some recently from 2" x 9" flooring joist. I chiselled out a 15mm square section from each end - set 1" back from the front face, so you won't see it when up. Then I used two 15mm square sections as mounting brackets. They fit snug and can't be seen when up. The shelves were then stained, they look great!
