washing machine waste should have a trap ?

hi this is my washing machine waste pipe, it looks like it should have a longer pipe and a trap to me , or is it ok as it is ?

thanks, but that has one outlet , how would i connect it to the existing pipework, would i add it above the tee ?

Or drop one of these onto what you have there and then add a bit of pipe to lift the height up to around 3/4's of the machine.

You need to ensure the 'U' bend of the washing flexible pipe is above the height of the drum top - say about level with the detergent drawer.

Do you? Or would you cut down the vertical pipe that is already there and then use a piece of that?

Before doing anything, probably worth checking whether there is a running trap between that standpipe and the outside drain.

thanks for your help, does this look ok, or should i try to get the pipe more over to the corner away from the electrics ?

also do i need to cut a but off the top of the pipe, its only got 6mn clearance.

Put a cap on the hot feed. (unless you have a very old machine)
