Well almost :)

I was living in a 1960s purpose built 2-bed flat which had the original cast-iron bath and fittings in salmon pink. The loo pan had already been replaced with a modern white version following a late night accident with an empty coffee cup, and I decided to replace the sink and bath as part of a redecorate.
The cistern and sink were no problem.

Dad & I donned earplugs and beat the cast iron bath into managable chunks then found the new acrylic bath was about 3cm too long for the space we had.

So after some cursing my stupidity for not measuring properly, we decided to get a chisel and cut a slot in the wall rather than my initial plan of hacking the end of the bath off....

Slowly we chipped the ancient cinderblock away, test fitting several times before eventually, the cinderblock gave way completely and left a 3ft long slot between the bathroom and the cupboard that held the electricity meter.

We wound up cementing the end of the bath into the wall and making good from the other side.

The moral is of course to always measure properly :)
