I can't think of any reason why. just another complication to go wrong. mine automatically regens according to metered supply, and a timer so it does it in the middle of the night (it is an obsolete model so no use recommending it) get full-bore 22mm valves and tubes, for the best flow. They are expensive if you have to buy them separately.
