Hi, I'm new to the forum so go easy!

I had a small office built back in 2016, after probably 4-5 years there was a strange smell, stagnant water type of smell slightly eggy as well, I'd actually had some drain specialists out to see if it was the drains but they couldn't say what it was, the office is now being turned into a play room and I ripped up the floor to find water in the cavity at the doorway, which was the source of the smell. I could see this as I'd foolishly poured concrete over dolly (I know) using 2 wooden batons and forgot to remove the wood once it set, so this wood had completely rotted, I know now the dolly wasn't a good idea either as that's soaked.

I've removed the concrete and the wood but there's about 3-4 inches of water. There's a number of reasons it could be there (door not being sealed, drain close to wall possibly leaking, window not being sealed) but that's not necessarily why I am posting. I want to know what to do about the water currently? The room isn't suffering any damp, everything is dry including the cavity wall insulation on inspection.

I'd considered getting a dirty water pump and removing as much as I could, installing some brick vents along that wall that is running alongside the main drain of my house... The smell is still quite strong, it's not a horrific smell or anything but I'd like to get rid of it if I can.

Any advice would be appreciated. I can go and grab some photos if more details are needed but I've attached the image of the water at least.

Thanks guys,

Ben
