Waterlogged garden and path

I have a path and garden to the front of the property and lately with the amount of rainfall I've noticed the path and parts of the garden are getting water logged. Please see attached pics.

Any ideas of how I can fix. Any advise and tips much appreciated.

That happens to me too in particularly heavy rain. I just wait until it stops raining.....and it goes away!

It's not only happening in heavy rain for me, it happens when there's long persistent drizzle. The water doesn't seem to be draining away properly.

That’s the nature of waterlogging. Often happens in winter/long wet spells. Unless it’s lapping up to your front door, I wouldn’t worry about it.

You may be in an area where the substrata is clay based. This tends to raise the underlying water table and in periods of excessive rain the ground retains a lot of water that is unable to drain away quickly. It will drain eventually, you just have to be patient and, as Mottie says, until it seems to be lapping towards your door I don't think it's anything to be concerned about. Can you post a shot of the road outside? i.e. is it a level road or does it dip into a hollow near your house?

the pic of your pavement shows the ground sloping down from left to right,and water logging your garden and possibly causing the damp under your suspended floor? Maybe this is a cause to the problem youve just complained about in the Building forum?

This is a different house to the suspended floor issue. I've since managed to resolve this garden water logging problem...all i had to do was aerate the soil by turning it over

It looks like your garden is at the same level as the path and pavement: my advice is to raise the level of your garden to give it sufficient drainage. A raised bed underlaid with rock/pea gravel then good soil will help do this. It doesn't look like you can get much more than a foot off the base level but it will be a big help in draining water away from the path.

...And to help keep standing water from the path try using Water Seal: it prevents any water settling on concrete and it just rolls off.
