Weird one this..

Recently installed a SmartCom WiFi module to my 64w thinking that I would only be able to control/connect to my alarm when connected to a WiFi network.

However, I've discovered that I can connect via the mobile network too and set and unset the system and receive notifications.

How can this be? I thought you needed a SmartCom WiFi + 4G to be able to interact via the mobile network?

No ….that’s the point of the smartcom…

The smart com connects to the internet and connects to the Texecom Cloud Servers.
The App then connects to the Cloud.

Connection types:-

1 wifi (standard CEL-0001 and 4G CEL-0007)
2. Ethernet cable (standard CEL-0001 and 4G CEL-0007)
3. GPRS (4G smart com CEL-0007)

There are plans to change smart coms so they can integrate with other panels and still use the platform for notifications and possibly arming and disarming but official details have not yet been released.
