What have you been doing today?

Cut my elderly (92) neighbours huge lawn with my ride on tractor....first cut of the year!
Discovered his septic tank has a blockage and sewage was escaping from an inspection chamber onto the lawn
Rodded that, and arranged a pump out next week.
John :)
wot a nice neighbour (y)(y)

Friend had an emergency with van alternator failed on inspection found alternator signal wire come off in my hand, tensioner plastic brittle and belt cracking. Ended up repairing and resoldering plug for alternator to save her pennies  fitted new belt and tensioners and most important friend back on road. Foc of course.. a bar of my fave choc or some drugs sometime always appreciated. (y)

6 hours of tedious driving

Among other places, Buxton.
Lovely place, but i'm sure it is a place around which, there are tears in space-time........no great distance on the map, but takes foogin' ages to get there (the endless quarry lorries and hgvs don't help, either).

To put it into context, I did home-leeds-buxton-footie-home, 220 miles in 6hrs. I sat on the sofa, and my eyes started closing at half-past six, 12 hours after leaving the house.
Once again boring everyone with my "French roads are great" stories, I did 400+ miles in the same time, stopping only to pay tolls (and one wee break), and felt fresh-as-a-daisy upon arrival (at 11pm). Same car too. And i'd left the house at 0330, to drive to the ferry at Portsmouth.

Very hilly. Played golf there in a gale once. Took ages to get to the course because of a fallen tree. Nice countryside though.
There was snow about.
Very pretty, nice little town.
Church Stretton is a hilly one as well.
Llanymynech less so, but a very enjoyable place to play(y)

Had a mate come round and I helped him pass his annual online MOT assessment. 70% pass mark required and he just scraped through with 73%. I passed mine a while back with 93%. Don’t know how, that’s the luck of multiple choice answers!

Grrr. Burnt the last two slices of bread in the toaster. Had to toast the two ends of the loaf for my scrambled eggs. First world problems.

Shouldnt he be doing it himself..........

Should have said I helped him complete the test rather than helped him pass because he’s dyslexic and has real trouble with reading and writing. He got his licence back in the day before computerisation when to keep your licence current, you had to go on a two day course every 5 years paid for by the Ministry. Now, it’s 30 online questions every year and you have to pay £35 for the privilege.

Yeah, sadly everything these days is broken down into form filling or online tests.

I bet your mate is very good at what he does, but isnt reflected in the test results.

I am spending today backing up an online game server and upgrading it all, all the add-ons etc.
So far it's been over 3 hours with the backup and I can see it being longer yet. :(
