What is this colourful moth?

I found this wandering across the garden last year and nobody i've asked can come up with an answer, so maybe there's a bug spotter here who can shine a light on this colourful chap...

Elephant Hawk-moth. Don't see many of these.​

No, i'd never seen anything like it but they're quite common according to butterfly-conservation.org

We had the caterpillar of one in our garden last year, never did see it when it grew up, but it makes for a huge caterpillar!
