I have some aluminium Diall trans strips, with plastic btm strips, instructions indicate fixing by glue? Is there a heavy duty 25mm dbl sided tape available that would also do the job?

Thanks
Dain

Glue would be better but there is double sided foam tape rated for securing oven glass , survives temp over 400degree.

Which glue is generally used? The instructions only show glue being applied, there's no text.
Normally threshold require mechanical fixing , sure it’s no sealant shown instead of glue? What’s it being used on?

Thresholds may well be subject to heavy traffic and may also need to be replaced in the future, so as Foxhole says, mechanical fixing (i.e. screws and plugs) are the order of the day. Never seen them only glued down yet, and pretty sure that glue alone would fail sooner or later although we do often seal them on either a bed of silicone or sometimes more specialised weatherproof sealants (mainly for exterior doors)

Ah, I didn't mention that the thresholds in question are upstairs, on both 20mm t&g and 18mm chipboard.

The plastic bases on these strips aren't designed very well, even wafer screw heads will interfere with the vinyl unless I shave a bit out to accommodate them.

Screws are not normally fixed anywhere they would interfere with flooring , which type do you have .?
