Whats the best type of loft ladder for a small hatch?

Hi,I have a small loft hatch I struggle to get through,I'm wondering what is the best type of ladder to access this?

Possibly a large step ladder so that the ladder itself doesn't take up space going into the hatch?

Or one of those multi function ones?

By far the best are the ladders that fold into 3 parts and sit on the hatch but you won't get one to fit a small opening. I'd look to enlarge the hole. Its usually pretty easy, albeit a little messy. Well worth doing.

As above, expanding the size of the loft hatch can dramatically increase the usability of the loft space.
I've done it - it was a relatively straightforward DIY job; just get an industrial vac up first, and completely clean up the area you will cut away!
