What's up with Google Earth?

Depends where you look, some areas are less poorly photographed than others. Also the resolution in the Pro (paid for) version will be higher quality.

No, it's not that, and I am using the Pro version. The detail, of my home, when looked previously, allowed me to spot details in my garden. Today it was so pixelated, I could not even spot the houses on the street.

Have you tried playing with the anti aliasing feature?
