Which programmable thermostat to replace Satchwell TLM2253

Looking to upgrade our 30 year old+ room stat with something digital and programmable. Here is the current wiring set up.

Is this just switchable with any programmable 3 wire stat? Any recommendations of which models are good and reasonably priced would be welcome. Looking for something with 7 day programmable with the ability to reduce heat overnight etc.

Yes, live, neutral and switched, so quite a lot on the market. I haven’t worked with that many, but I know to steer clear of Salus. You can even go for a 2 wire battery operated as well, ditching the neutral wire should you wish (just terminate it safely if you do this).
 
Why just the stat?
Go all in and replace the controls/rad valves as well.

Suggest something which is scalable and can be controlled by an app if needed.

Its 2021. Use the modern stuff!

Drayton wiser or similar.

Yeah, long term plan is to do something like that, but next year we are having an extension which also involves a whole house rewire, new or repositioned oil boiler as well as moving from gravity fed to something better, probably pressurised. Just want something in the interim that is relatively cheap to stop the wife getting too cold overnight without having to run the heating on full all the time.

Have a look at the new systems such as Drayton wiser.
Its scalable, wireless and can manage multiple zones, eventually (like i have) you can make every rad its own zone which is a leap in controllability for the house owner and for the room occupier.
Highly recommended.
