Which replacement filter pool pump for Bestway pool?

Last summer I bought a "Bestway 56709 Steel Pro Deluxe 12 Feet Pool with Filter Pump" on ebay (new, but not authorised seller) and the pump packed up in the last week of summer - Bestway refused to help.

Obviously not keen to get another £40 Bestway pump, especially if it is only going to last 3 months again, and also toyed with the idea of trying to run the water through a wood fired heater, and somebody here said the pump I had would not be powerful enough to do this. I've also just had a tree chopped down, so got some spare wood at the moment ...

So, pump recommendations please. Don't want to break the bank. Have an electric heater (Intex 2.2kW ), which was not too expensive to run really (the boys were happy with the temperature).

Have seen this - thinking, might save money on filters? Any idea if these are good?

I made the mistake of buying one of the small Intex pumps. When I added a heater it became clear it wasn't up to the job. The neighbour then decomissioned his pool and gave me one similar to this. The difference was massive and it's worked for 5 years without a blip. I think Intex are a good brand so worth looking at their range.

Not sure about that brand but sand filters are great. I had one on my 'above ground swimming pool' and it worked a treat. Once installed there is very little maintenance with just a need to backwash occasionally and then a little top up of the water level to replace what is lost in the backwash & rinse.
A small, (4kW ish), Air Heater would save a fortune on that electric one and heat the water up much hotter and quicker. Don't be put off thinking the power is twice the size. That is the output power. Google, "How do air heat pumps work"? and it will explain how, and why, they are more efficient than electric heaters by a country mile. The extra outlay is well justified in the reduced electric bills.

You need to work out your cubic metre capacity. You can google it by putting in your pool dimensions e.g. diameter and depth of water.
From this you can find what size heater you would need.
 
It's 9000 litres / 9m3, so a bit bigger than the recommended rating for that heater, but that heater is much cheaper than the next models up, and available... but mostly cheaper!

I've ordered my heat pump and filter!
After lots of searching for retailers, I found one that's just down the road. Phoned them just now and very helpful, and suggested bigger heat pump, smaller filter pump, so getting these:

Pico Reversible UK Plug and Play Pool Heat Pump for Above Ground Pools up to 12m3 - 4kw × 1 £550.00
Intex Cartridge Pool Pump / Filter for 15' Pools (2.8m3/hr) × 1 £85.00

He said the Hot Splash 3.35kw would be too small for our pool - the extra 1000 litres will make a noticeable difference.

Should be with me by April, so might be able to get the pool up and running by the May bank holidays with any luck. Hoping for a another nice summer!
 
Klarna is some finance company that you can pay for goods through, (bit like paypal I think), but they have had a lot of bad press recently because people were being hacked or receiving goods they had never ordered and then getting demands for payment. In some cases they took payment and then demanded more for import duties and taxes. I think they are under warning from the financial ombudsman to clean up their act.
 
Heater and filter fired up, all appears to be working. Pool getting warmer by the hour.
I was meant to build a nice little house for this, but the camping table and scraps of chipboard will have to do for another year
