Hi there,
I am doing a loft conversion on a terraced house. Both neighbours have already done loft conversions (unfortunately). I say unfortunately as I believe this just makes my loft conversion slightly more complicated with regards to waterproofing and joining to their structures. Nither neighbour built up their party walls.
Have received extremely high quotes from "general builders" I have decided to engage the various trades myself. I have done many renovations before but never construction.
I am slightly unclear about which trades I need to engage. I understand that a carpenter will take care of the timber structure. I want to remove the chimney breasts on all 3 levels including in the loft). My Structural engineer has drawn up plans to make this possible with various steels.
Which trade do I engage to:
Measure and install the steels to support the chimney and loft extension?
The area I am most unsure about surrounds which trade or trades are involved in supporting the chimney and installing the steelwork.
I have included the plans below to give an idea of what I need to do.
Any guidance would be highly appreciated.
