Hello. For a while, i have been looking for a bell box with bright comfort LED's. Around where i live most peoples alarm bell boxes have the standard green or red comfort LEDs, but as the box whethers they are not very visable and the LEDs can not be seen at daytime.
Has anybody come across a bell box with white comfort LEDs? I think they would stand out.

no idea, think they are standard green, at one time you used to be able to get different LED's but not off the shelf.

On say an odyssey, you are unlikely to see the LED's during the day due to the thick lens so could only see when dull or dark.

I see two question where to get white leds and the other to see during the day.

you could always swap out the LED's?

The gardtec nova ( red led) with opal lens used to be very visible in the day ....

Swapping out LEDs is not simple as they are fitted on the PCB

Has anybody fitted a HKC SABB bell box, what colour are the LEDs?

I second the Texecom Odyssey X, very bright white LED's and if you get the cover with the clear lens on the bottom it should be fairly visible during the day. I have one with the blue lens and I've not had an issue seeing them flash during the day.

Thank you for the information. I hear the strobe on the new odyssey X is not bright compaired to the odyssey 1, 2, 3, 4.
Woujud you say that is correct?

The strobe is bright enough in my opinion, i have a second system installed on my shed and something triggered it last week, I wasn't home at the time but i noticed the strobe flashing as soon as i was walking up the side of the house and that's whilst it was in direct sunlight. You can probably get bell boxes with brighter ones but then you are back where you started with regards the comfort LED brightness, I think the Texecom Odyssey X are a perfectly decent range of bell boxes.

I have done some research and found HKC SABB bell boxes to also have white comfort LEDs.

The only problem is HKC only do 110dB box whereas Odyssey X are 109db or 115db twin piezo. I guess odyssey X is the one to go for.

The Odyssey and Odyssey X uses the same pcb, just different back plates.

The covers were changed to make the leds more visible during the day and to make it possible to add inserts rather than have screen printed bell boxes. also the LED's could have been changed to white.

wish they would change to a strobe LED.

Odyssey 4,5 and 5C have plug in LED's from memory, leds at the end of a cable.

The PCB's the same, in that there are 3 variants, grade 2 & grade 3 hardwired and wireless.

The LED's can well be white on the odyssey X's have to admit put one up today and could see the LED's but didn't look at the colour other than through a blue lens.
