Will rendering/patching fix this or will it re-occur?

We live in a 70's build with a flat roof kitchen extension and are getting around to looking at options for the external render, which has blown in one corner in particular.

My question is, if we get this knocked back and re-rendered will that likely fix for a reasonable amount of time, or are there potential other issues (roof/guttering?) at play.

I did clean the (pretty full) gutters out when we moved in, so guessing that may have been a contributing factor.

Better with a breathable modern render.
Not my area but loads of information online and manufacturers help lines.
Also find a good local firm that can advise.

OP,
Pic 1. shows a patched corner and an historic trail of water from the eaves.
The patch & rest of the render appears to be holding.

Pic 2. shows another patch - and a certain amount of cracking & failed render.
A much larger area patch could be opened by hacking off and making good.
The reason for failure could be that the render wasn't originally firmly bonded to the background.

To answer your question: patching damaged or suspect areas should give you a few more years - masonry paint will help.

FWIW: make certain that the gutter is to falls & be alert for roof ponding blowing over the edges.
The vent pipe in pic 2. appears to have detached from its socket?
Is there any damp damage showing on the inside of the walls?
