Apologies for the thickest question of the day ... but if we remove these patio doors what is likely to be left behind ... will it be bare brickwork? And what is the best way to smooth this gap.

The wall is the same size on both sides of the door.

External doors? Will likely be a cavity depending on age of house.

Yes they were external doors on a new build Redrow (2010). If it’s a cavity will that mean cementing it?

Cavity closers, plasterboard and skim.
Assuming you have built an extension.
