Win 7 Windows Media Player

It's using up all of my PCs resources even when not playing a DVD.

I have to turn it of in features when not watching a DVD and then turn it on againe when I want to watch one.

Any suggestions?

have a look in the options on media player for look on the network for shared libraries

that might sort it when its sat there doing nowt

I dumped the Windows Media Player in favour of Mediaplayer Classic, and I have never looked back.

are you sure its media player? im running win7, when running it uses around 20meg, dvd only jumps up to 30, and when I exit, it dissapears from the task manager as you would expect.

Im on 7Pro 64.

the biggest general drain on my system is whatever browser im using.
