Evening all

I am looking to install a wired CCTV kit but an struggling to route the cables due to the build of our house.

The external walls are granite and almost 2' thick so drilling a 30mm + hose would be a pita.
I though of routing the wires through the loft out a vent but having been up there I cannot seem to find access to either the front or back vent, have pulled up the flooring and insulation where I see the for the outside of the building.

Any thought or advise would be welcome

Finding a route from the loft area is normally possible but bloody hard.
Often easier from outside to in-

The issue is that the roof will overhang to create soffits and sliding a bendy trail, blazer res ultra in it taking random routes whereas going upwards it may follow the sarking. You're also working with naff all room once in a corner of the loft.

Cable access rods up through the vent, it's amazing how far off you can be once in a loft. If I were drilling through that wall I wouldn't be drilling a 30mm hole, something around 10mm through a mortar joint and chance your luck. All a guess based on your description ;-)

Cheers guys rods may help me with this

I lifted the flooring I'd installed and the insulation but couldn't see the vents, nor the loft light from outside, is it possible they are under the loft floor (in between the bedroom roof and loft floor)?

Your soffits are lower than the top,of the house wall so very hard
Hence shove something upwards and hope that it skims along the underside of the roof

The roof doesn't overhan the wall, solid granite walls butt against the roof, tried the cable rods up through the vent but I think I need to lift the original loft floor to get at it, will have a look at the weekend

Thanks for the replies
