Wiring in 2 x switched wall lights

Hello,

So, 2 x switched wall lights either side of the bed, nearest permanent live comes from the ceiling rose on the landing with plenty of room to connect the cable.

I would like to take 1 x cable from the permanent live in the loft to above where the wall lights are to be situated and drop down 2 x cables, 1 x to each wall light, chase in the wall with trunking, and plaster over.
I already have sufficient 1.5mm cable.

My question is, is this the best way to feed the 2 x switched wall lights, and if so is there a particular junction box i should be looking at joining the 2 cables to 1?

You mean conduit.

Ok. Bigger than needed but up to you. 1mm² doesn't cost much.

There isn't a 'best' way. If it does what you want then it is fine.

It would be better without junction boxes.
You could run two cables from the landing light, or
one cable from the landing light to one wall light with another from there back up and over to the second light or straight across to the second light.

Might you want both lights to be operated from both switches which would need more wiring?

Thank you, that is most helpful.

I already have 1.5mm cable handy, but if 1.0mm would be better i can get that - which then i can get enough to run 2 cables from the landing light and be done with it that way.
I only suggested the alternative as the cable i have isn't long enough to do that, but is long enough to loop without the need of a junction box.

In regards to your last sentence the wall lights have built in switches, each has 2 x switches as they have a main bulb light, and an led reading light.

Not better as such unless your lights have very small fittings and little room.

I saw the same thing on the Wayfair site, advertised on sale, but £20 more expensive.
The reviews look good, some i've read have negative comments about installation, but none here - plus Amazon customer service is very decent, so any problems and they can be returned.
When looking at specialist lighting website you don't see many for under £100.
Worth the punt i reckon.
