Hi All,

Just got my Evohome kit through the door the other day and was looking to get it up and running this weekend. My existing relay is also honeywell (R6660D / HC60NG) so should be a fairly straight forward swap out but whilst looking at the existing wiring I noticed a couple of quirks / potential issues and just thought it would be wise to get some opinions before getting stuck in.

Here is the existing setup:

So 2 things....

1. For some reason the Live and Neutral seem to be when going into the relay, why would this be? Should I preserve this when wiring in the BDR91 or put it back to normal?

2. There isn't a place for the earth cable on the BDR91, should i leave it disconnected (both ends) and remove it?

Ending up with this....

or obviously with the live and neutral in their normal positions....

What you reckon?

Thanks
Brew

It was installed by a moron and his blind assistant.

Leave connected at the boiler, do not connect to the new BDR91.

Yeah thought as much, though it has worked without issue since moving in....

So I'll wire the live and neutral as normal and disconnect the earth wire between the boiler and bdr91?

Nice one (y)
