Wood/Laminate Flooring - Working Around Stairs

Hello.

Looking to replace grey carpet in hall - I will be keeping black entrance island due to door clearance - see two attached photos.

I will be removing skirting and undercutting jambs.

BUT not sure how I deal with the section under and bottom stair curve...advice please !

Cut around curve , leave small expansion gap which is hidden under carpet on bottom step .
 
Expansion gaps can also be filled with cork strip when they are visible. This tends to merge in quite well with most solid timber or engineered flooring
