Some advice please

My builder has built a wooden frame to support the joists of the subfloor. However they have just place the frame in direct contact to soil in subfloor no dpc between.

They assure me this will last my lifetime but I have doubts.

Is this ok or should it have been bricks or at least of had a dpc between the wood and soil?

Thanks
Pete

Agree with above and unless you are in you're 70's you may be doing it again. Tell him to do it right or not at all.

Looks like you need a new builder!

I take it this was the cheapest cash job with English not being his first language.

How cheap and easy would it have been to at least put down a dpc? Scum.
This is one of my biggest annoyances whether pro tradesperson or diy'er. You're there ... right there doing the job. For the sake of a few more £££ and a few more mins of time, do it right, or in this case at least a bit better.

All the opposites! I think the main guys attention was moved to bigger/more profitable client who is a property investor. So the guys (50+ years old) where left to own devices.

So it was prob laziness
